The Ripon Area Community Theatre (RACT) will be holding open auditions for their spring play production of “Myth Guided,” by Tracy Wells, April 12 2-4 pm and April 13, 6-8 pm in the Fellowship Hall at the First Congregational Church, 220 Ransom St in Ripon.

“An enthusiastic tour guide promises a group of zany tourists that their visit to the sculpture garden will be full of fun with Greek mythology—but nobody was expecting the statues to actually come to life! When the mischievous god Hermes comes down from Olympus to play a little trick on the tourists exploring Athens, figures from well-known myths like Pandora’s Box, King Midas and the Golden Touch, and Arachne the Weaver come alive to share each of their individual tales.”

Auditions are open to everyone ages 10-99+; no prior acting experience required and auditioners do not need to prepare anything beforehand. Actors will be given excerpts from the show for cold reading/performing with other actors who are trying out, with the opportunity to do multiple rounds of cold readings. No memorization required for the audition scenes.

A copy of the script can be read at the Ripon Public Library (not for checkout). Performances will be June 12-14. Questions about auditions or the production of “Myth Guided” can be sent to This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it..
